Local musicians Caroline Lawrence and John Gleadall . . .

have been busy getting Chichester Community Choir up and running after easing of covid restrictions allowed group singing sessions in August 2021

Both our choir leaders have extensive knowledge & years of experience in building fabulous vocal groups – and vast amounts of enthusiasm to get going again with vigor and determination, after our beloved singing was demonised during the pandemic!

Meeting every week on Tuesday evenings, we aim to provide singers with the opportunity to explore a wide variety of musical styles, enjoying rich harmonies in SATB voice parts, from madrigals to mash ups, rounds to rock and canons to classical.

As a choir, we have adapted to the post pandemic climate by introducing sensible safety measures, so that everybody remains safe, and have thankfully finished our first term without incident.

Chichester Community Choir was founded by Steve Flashman, who soon realised that not everyone could make it to evening rehearsals. He set up satellite daytime choirs to compliment the CCC, which are now run by Caroline as Upbeat Singers, in Southbourne and East Preston. John also runs a daytime choir, the Ok Chorale.
